WELCOME TO ABHYUDAYA 2026

The transition from school to engineering is more than a change of classroom—it is the beginning of a journey of discovery, learning, growth and responsibility.

ABHYUDAYA 2026, the Student Induction Programme of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus, is designed to welcome the new generation of engineering students into the Vidya community and help them begin their academic journey with confidence, purpose and enthusiasm.

Spanning 10 to 20 August 2026, the programme brings together informative sessions, expert interactions, motivational talks, academic orientation, wellness activities, innovation and entrepreneurship, career guidance, mentoring, campus familiarisation and co-curricular experiences.

ABOUT ABHYUDAYA 2026

A Meaningful Beginning to the Engineering Journey

The first days of engineering education can shape a student's approach to learning, relationships, opportunities and personal growth.

ABHYUDAYA 2026 has therefore been envisioned as more than an orientation programme. It is a structured introduction to the academic environment, institutional ecosystem, professional expectations and opportunities that await every student at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology Technical Campus.

Through carefully planned sessions and activities, students will be introduced to:

Engineering education is not confined to classrooms, laboratories or examinations.

The Beginning of a New Journey

The inaugural day of ABHYUDAYA 2026 marks the formal beginning of the Student Induction Programme and welcomes the 2026–2030 batch into the Vidya Academy community.

The inauguration is part of the State-wide Student Induction Programme as per the KTU schedule, followed by an engaging programme featuring distinguished guests and speakers.

The day is envisioned to give students their first glimpse of the possibilities that lie beyond their academic curriculum—through interaction with accomplished professionals and experts from industry, training and student well-being.

Engineering Beyond Boundaries

The inaugural address by Mr. Kishore Kumar will set the tone for the induction programme, encouraging students to look beyond conventional boundaries and understand engineering as a field driven by innovation, technology, problem-solving and continuous learning.

His presence brings an industry perspective to the beginning of the students' engineering journey and offers an opportunity for students to connect their academic experience with the evolving professional world.

Beginning the Journey with Well-being

A successful engineering journey requires more than academic achievement. Emotional well-being, resilience, self-awareness and the ability to manage challenges are equally important.

Dr. Silpa Balagangadharan, Senior Consultant Psychologist, joins the inaugural programme as the Wellness Expert, bringing the dimension of mental and emotional well-being into the students' first steps into higher education.

Her presence reinforces an important message of ABHYUDAYA 2026:

Regulation & Curriculum

An orientation to the B.Tech 2024 Academic Regulations, Curriculum Framework, Credit System, Examination Regulations and other important academic provisions.

The session also introduces students to credit requirements for progression to the fifth and seventh semesters, Honours and Minor programmes, the Digital Edge 101 MOOC Course and other distinctive features of the B.Tech 2024 curriculum.

The Student Induction Programme concludes with a motivational session by Fr. Sabu Thomas, Sacred Heart College, Thevara, designed to encourage students to recognise their potential, develop confidence and approach their new journey with purpose.

Programme Objectives

The Student Induction Programme – ABHYUDAYA 2026 aims to:

1. Facilitate a smooth transition of students into the engineering education environment and introduce them to the academic culture, institutional systems and campus facilities.
2. Orient students to the B.Tech 2024 academic framework, including Outcome-Based Education, Programme Outcomes, Course Outcomes, academic regulations, credit requirements, assessment practices and examination provisions.
3. Create awareness about academic and professional opportunities available through innovation, entrepreneurship, research, career development, digital learning and continuing education.
4. Foster holistic student development by addressing physical fitness, health, hygiene, mental well-being, stress management and healthy lifestyle practices.
5. Promote ethical, responsible and value-based behaviour by introducing students to Universal Human Values, professional ethics, constitutional values, social responsibility and institutional values.
6. Create awareness about student safety and protection mechanisms, including anti-ragging regulations, prevention of sexual harassment, cyber safety, drug abuse prevention, fire safety and grievance redressal systems.
7. Familiarise students with student support systems such as mentoring, Faculty Advisory Systems, counselling services, the Anti-Ragging Cell, Internal Complaints Committee, student welfare mechanisms and KTU Sureksha.
8. Encourage active participation in campus life through student clubs, professional societies, technical chapters, cultural activities, NSS, NCC and other co-curricular opportunities.
9. Develop a sense of social and environmental responsibility by introducing students to community engagement, Sustainable Development Goals and responsible citizenship.
10. Establish meaningful connections with faculty, alumni, mentors and peers, helping students build a supportive academic and professional network.
11. Encourage students to develop their personal and professional profiles through portfolio preparation, resume development, mentoring and early career awareness.
12. Inspire students to recognise their potential and aspirations, develop confidence and approach their engineering journey with curiosity, purpose, responsibility and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Programme Outcomes

At the end of ABHYUDAYA 2026, students will be able to:

1. Navigate the institutional environment confidently and identify the major academic, laboratory, library, computing, innovation and student support facilities available on campus.
2. Demonstrate awareness of the B.Tech 2024 curriculum and academic regulations, including credits, assessment, examination requirements, progression requirements, Honours and Minor programmes and other academic provisions.
3. Recognise the significance of Outcome-Based Education, including Programme Outcomes, Course Outcomes, Graduate Attributes and continuous assessment in their engineering education.
4. Identify opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship, research, career development and start-up activities available within and beyond the institution.
5. Make effective use of digital learning resources such as NPTEL, SWAYAM, FutureSkills, library resources and other online learning platforms.
6. Demonstrate awareness of personal health and well-being, including hygiene, physical fitness, yoga, stress management and healthy lifestyle practices.
7. Recognise the importance of mental health and emotional well-being and identify appropriate counselling and institutional support mechanisms when required.
8. Demonstrate awareness of ethical and professional responsibilities and appreciate the importance of Universal Human Values, constitutional values and responsible citizenship.
9. Identify and respond appropriately to situations related to student safety, including ragging, sexual harassment, cyber crime, drug abuse and fire emergencies.
10. Identify appropriate institutional mechanisms for seeking support, including mentoring, counselling, grievance redressal, Anti-Ragging Cell, ICC and student welfare services.
11. Participate actively in co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities such as student clubs, professional societies, technical chapters, NSS, NCC and cultural activities.
12. Demonstrate awareness of environmental sustainability and social responsibility and recognise their role in contributing to sustainable development and community well-being.
13. Begin developing a professional identity through portfolio preparation, resume development, mentoring and interaction with faculty, alumni and professionals.
